About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, commercially oriented finance leader to own the financial engine at Meolaa. This is not a compliance-first role — it is a business-first one. You will sit close to the Founders, drive financial strategy, and be the person who connects the numbers to the decisions that matter. If you think in unit economics, love building models that actually get used, and can hold your own in a room full of operators, this role is for you.
What You'll Own
Business Finance
- Own P&L visibility across brands and channels — not just reporting, but interpreting and acting
- Partner with category, growth, and supply chain teams to drive margin improvement and cost efficiency
- Build and maintain brand-level and company-level unit economics — CAC, LTV, contribution margins, payback periods
- Evaluate new brand launches, channel expansions, and capital allocation decisions with financial rigour
- Lead pricing strategy and discount governance across the portfolio
FP&A
- Build and own the annual operating plan (AOP) and rolling forecasts
- Design and maintain financial models that are dynamic, scenario-ready, and actually used in decision-making
- Drive the monthly business review (MBR) and board reporting cadence — numbers, narrative, and so what
- Track actuals vs. plan, identify variance drivers early, and recommend course corrections
- Build dashboards and reporting infrastructure that gives leadership real-time financial visibility
Strategy & Fundraising Support
- Support investor conversations, due diligence, and fundraising with financial narrative and data
- Identify strategic opportunities — new categories, partnerships, inorganic plays — and size them financially
- Build business cases for key initiatives and present recommendations to the Founders
Compliance & Controls(supporting, not primary)
- Ensure statutory compliance — GST, TDS, ROC filings — in coordination with external advisors
- Oversee audit readiness and internal financial controls
Who You Are
- 8–12 years of experience in finance, with significant time in BizFin, FP&A, or a commercial finance role
- Preferably from a D2C, FMCG, e-commerce, or high-growth startup background
- CA, MBA (Finance), or CFA — Tier 1 institution preferred
- Strong financial modelling skills — you build from scratch, not just maintain inherited sheets
- Comfortable presenting to Founders, investors, and board — clear, confident, no fluff
- Business partner mindset — you go to operators with insights, not just reports
