Job Vacancy: Finance Head

We are looking for a highly-motivated individual having skills and experience in all aspects of financial planning, management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and developing policies and procedures.

Position: Finance Head (Aseema Charitable Trust and Aseema Foundation)

Location: Khar (West), Mumbai

Reports to: Chairperson

About Aseema: Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from marginalised communities with high quality, value-based education, enabling the development of their limitless potential. We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri. Aseema reaches out to 4,400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities.

Position Summary: As Finance Head, the candidate will support the Chairperson in providing leadership and oversight of all aspects of Finance and Accounts for Aseema Charitable Trust and Aseema Foundation. He/she will work in close collaboration with other departmental heads to promote effective functioning of the division.

Job Description:

  1. Lead and oversee all finance, accounting, budgeting, and compliance functions of the organisation.
  2. Supervise and guide the Accounts and Finance team to achieve departmental goals effectively.
  3. Ensure timely completion of audits, statutory compliances, assessments, and financial reporting.
  4. Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and key insights to the Chairperson and Trustees.
  5. Develop, review, and implement finance policies, systems, and internal controls.
  6. Monitor fund flow, liquidity, investments, and fixed deposits to ensure financial stability.
  7. Prepare and manage annual budgets in coordination with departmental heads.
  8. Conduct regular budget versus actual analysis and recommend corrective actions where required.
  9. Ensure payroll processes and all statutory deductions/compliances are accurately managed.
  10. Work closely with donor relations teams on budgets, utilization certificates, and financial reports.
  11. Review donor agreements/MOUs and ensure adherence to all financial commitments.
  12. Oversee procurement-related financial processes, purchase orders, and timely vendor payments.
  13. Provide strategic financial inputs for organisational planning and decision-making.
  14. Support recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance management of finance team members.
  15. Ensure smooth functioning of finance operations across Aseema Charitable Trust and Aseema Foundation.

Eligibility:

• MBA with strong finance background

• 5–7 years of relevant experience. NGO experience will be preferred.

• Strong knowledge of accounting, statutory compliances, budgeting, and audits

• Proficiency in Tally, MS Office, and accounting software

• Team management and leadership skills
