Head of Engineering (EV Start up)

A fast-growing electric mobility startup that focuses on providing affordable, app-based two-wheeler rentals for everyday commuters and gig-economy workers. It combines a large EV fleet with flexible rental plans, 247 roadside support, and on-road battery swapping to ensure uninterrupted rides. The company partners with delivery platforms and businesses to supply electric vehicles for last-mile logistics, while also building its own fleet-management technology.

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Define and own the engineering vision, architecture, and long-term technology roadmap.

-Lead and scale engineering teams across backend, mobile, data engineering, and DevOps.

-Build and optimize systems for fleet management, real-time tracking, battery-swap workflows, and customer experience.

-Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical platforms used by riders, partners, and operations teams.

-Collaborate with Product and Operations to translate mobility use-cases into robust technical solutions.

-Set engineering best practices, code quality standards, and secure development processes.

Skill & Qualification:

-814 years of overall experience in software development, with strong exposure to product-based or high-scale tech environments.

-Expertise in Node.js for backend development, API architecture, and building scalable microservices.

-Strong hands-on experience with React Native for mobile app development (Android & iOS), including performance optimization and deployment.

-Proficiency in MongoDB and NoSQL database design, indexing, and performance tuning.

-Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and maintain full-stack applications supporting large user bases.

-Proven track record of collaborating with Product, Design, and Operations to deliver end-to-end features.

-Problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills in fast-paced startup environments
