Head of Engineering, Building MEP for industrial facilities

Job Description

Purpose

Manage and lead the engineering team to ensure that all technical documentation is executed in accordance with the project requirement for quality, while respecting the pre-established constraints for budget and schedule

Responsibilities

• To lead Building MEP engineering activities with practical plant project experience, including design coordination, technical direction, and integration of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utility, and process-related building services.
• Experience in Building MEP systems for industrial facilities, including chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, battery manufacturing, and semiconductor plants, is preferred.
• To oversee MEP engineering calculations and technical evaluations for plant-related facilities, including HVAC load calculations, utility system requirements, equipment sizing, power and electrical coordination, airflow verification, and compliance with applicable project requirements and standards
• To plan and direct the mobilization of the engineering personnel to ensure that suitably qualified engineers, technicians and draftsman will be available as and when required.
• To prepare a list of engineering deliverables (coded in such a way that they can be sorted by discipline, facility or work package) and indicating the hours required per document, to permit the planning and control of the engineering budget and schedule (PM+)
• To prepare all technical documentation required for the execution of the project
• To manage and coordinate the progress of the engineering work in accordance with the project scope, schedule and procedures
• Using the PM+, measure on a monthly basis, the progress of engineering work packages, to
• ensure that the budgets and schedules are being met. If necessary take corrective action
• To ensure that the quality audits of engineering work are carried out in accordance with the Project Instructions and the quality assurance plan
• To ensure that the checking of documentation and interdisciplinary coordination is carried out in accordance with the Project Instructions
• To establish and maintain a climate favourable to the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of the engineering work
• To train and aid his subordinates in their proposal development

Requirements

An ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

• At least 17 years of relevant experience in MEP design, including design lead responsibilities
• Excellent command of English in both written and oral communication
• Strong experience in Building MEP design for plant-related or technically complex facilities
• Proven capability to lead multidisciplinary design coordination and technical reviews
