The Head of Design is responsible for defining and driving the organization's design vision, strategy, and execution across all products, services, and brand touchpoints. This role leads the design function, ensuring exceptional user experiences, innovative product design, and strong brand consistency while aligning design initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the overall design strategy aligned with business goals.
- Establish and maintain design standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Drive a user-centered design culture across the organization.
- Lead design innovation and identify emerging design trends and technologies.
Team Management
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing design team.
- Foster a collaborative, creative, and growth-oriented environment.
- Define team goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention of design talent.
Product & User Experience
- Oversee end-to-end design processes, including research, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and usability testing.
- Ensure products deliver intuitive, engaging, and accessible user experiences.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Business teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Review and approve key design deliverables before implementation.
Brand & Visual Identity
- Ensure consistency of brand identity across all digital and physical touchpoints.
- Lead the evolution of visual design systems and design guidelines.
- Partner with marketing teams on campaigns, communications, and branding initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Present design strategies, concepts, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Translate business requirements into effective design solutions.
- Influence cross-functional teams to adopt design-led thinking.
Process Improvement
- Establish scalable design processes and workflows.
- Implement design systems and tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Monitor and improve design quality through metrics and user feedback.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, Product Design, or a related field.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in UX/UI, Product Design, Visual Design, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing design teams.
- Proven track record of leading successful design initiatives and product launches.
- Experience building and scaling design teams and processes.

- Strong expertise in UX/UI design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent visual design and brand development skills.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar.
