Job Title: Head of Department– Academics (Finance)Experience: 8–10 YearsQualification: Ph.D. in Finance (Mandatory)Industry: Education / B-School / PGDM InstituteRole OverviewThe Head – Academics will be responsible for leading academic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of academic delivery. The role requires strong leadership in managing faculty teams, ensuring academic excellence, driving accreditation processes, and contributing to research and teaching in finance.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Planning & Execution- Design and implement academic calendars, curriculum plans, and session delivery frameworks
- Ensure smooth execution of lectures, assessments, and examinations
- Monitor academic quality, coverage, and adherence to planned schedules
- Drive continuous improvement in teaching-learning processes
2. Faculty & Team Management- Lead and manage a two-level academic team (Senior Faculty & Junior Faculty/Coordinators)
- Allocate subjects, monitor performance, and ensure faculty effectiveness
- Conduct regular reviews, mentoring, and performance evaluations
- Ensure coordination between departments for seamless academic delivery
3. Accreditation & Compliance- Lead and support accreditation processes (NBA, NIRF, AICTE, etc.)
- Ensure documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with regulatory bodies
- Implement academic standards aligned with accreditation requirements
4. Research & Development- Drive research initiatives, publications, and academic contributions
- Encourage faculty research output and collaborations
- Stay updated with industry and academic trends in finance
5. Teaching, Evaluation & Examination Responsibilities- Teach finance-related subjects as per institute requirements
- Conduct lectures with strong conceptual and practical orientation
- Set question papers for internal assessments, mid-term, and end-term examinations
- Design and evaluate class assessments including assignments and case studies
- Evaluate answer sheets for mid-term and end-term examinations in a timely manner
- Ensure fair, accurate, and timely assessment of student performance
- Participate in and oversee invigilation duties during examinations to ensure adherence to academic integrity and institutional protocols
- Monitor and ensure proper conduct of examinations, including discipline, compliance, and reporting of any irregularities
6. Student Academic Outcomes- Monitor student performance and academic progress
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus and evaluation processes
- Support academic interventions for improving student outcomes
