About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic professional to lead the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Department. The ideal candidate will provide academic leadership, oversee curriculum development, ensure quality teaching and research, and contribute to the strategic growth of the department in alignment with university objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Lead and manage the MCA Department, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and academic administration.
- Develop and implement academic strategies aligned with institutional goals and industry requirements.
- Monitor and enhance the quality of teaching-learning processes.
Curriculum Development
- Design, review, and update the MCA curriculum in accordance with AICTE, UGC, and university guidelines.
- Introduce emerging technologies and industry-relevant subjects into the curriculum.
- Ensure outcome-based education and continuous academic improvement.
Faculty Management
- Mentor, guide, and evaluate faculty members.
- Facilitate faculty development programs, workshops, seminars, and research initiatives.
- Promote a collaborative and performance-driven academic environment.
Student Development
- Monitor student academic performance and progression.
- Encourage student participation in research, innovation, hackathons, internships, and industry projects.
- Support placement and career development initiatives.
Research & Innovation
- Promote research culture and scholarly activities within the department.
- Publish research papers in reputed journals and encourage faculty research contributions.
- Establish research collaborations with industry and academic institutions.
Industry & Institutional Collaboration
- Develop partnerships with industry, professional bodies, and academic institutions.
- Facilitate guest lectures, workshops, internships, and placement opportunities.
- Strengthen industry-academia engagement.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare departmental budgets, reports, and accreditation documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NAAC, NBA, AICTE, UGC, and university regulations.
- Participate in institutional committees and strategic initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Master's Degree in Computer Applications (MCA), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with an excellent academic record.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of teaching/research/industry experience, out of which at least 5 years should be in a leadership role such as HOD, Dean, Program Coordinator, or equivalent.
- Experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic administration is essential.
