A) Context Note:
This role has been defined based on the current operating model of Wuerth Industrial Services India Private Limited, covering dual business units (WIS and WBS), strong governance expectations, cross-functional involvement, and alignment with Würth Group standards and reporting frameworks.
B) Role Overview:
The Head of Finance & Controlling is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire finance function across multiple profit centers (WIS and WBS), ensuring financial integrity, governance, and alignment with both local statutory requirements and Würth Group expectations.
The role extends beyond traditional finance management and requires strong capabilities in governance, cross-functional influence, independent judgment, and risk oversight.
C) Business Context (Profit Centers):
- WIS (Würth Industrial Services) A trading-focused business unit primarily engaged in procurement and distribution of industrial fasteners and related products. The focus areas include supply chain efficiency, working capital management, and operational profitability.
- WBS (Würth Business Services) A Global Capability Center (GCC) providing service-based operations across functions. The focus areas include cost-plus models, intercompany transactions, scalability of service delivery, and multi-entity financial structuring.
The role requires the ability to operate across both business models simultaneously, ensuring financial discipline and alignment across distinct operating structures.
D) Scope of Responsibilities:
1) Financial Leadership & Oversight
- Ownership of financial reporting, controlling, and performance management across business units.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements (local GAAP and IFRS)
- Drive profitability, cost control, and financial discipline
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
2) Governance & Risk Management
- Act as a key governance anchor within the organization
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial discipline
- Provide independent, fact-based judgment on financial and business decisions
- Safeguard financial integrity, compliance standards, and risk framework
3) Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Act as a strategic partner to Managing Directors and leadership team
- Support decision-making across functions including operations, supply chain, HR, admin, and IT
- Provide financial insights on pricing, operations, and business strategies
4) Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Oversee banking relationships, credit limits, and liquidity management
- Manage foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies
- Ensure optimal working capital management
5) Taxation & Transfer Pricing
- Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations
- Manage transfer pricing policies and cross-border intercompany transactions
- Oversee cost-plus models and international structuring
- Handle tax assessments, audits, and litigation with advisors
6) Audit & Compliance
- Lead statutory, internal, and IFRS audits
- Ensure audit readiness and closure of audit observations
- Coordinate with auditors and consultants
7) Systems & Process Governance
- Oversee financial systems including SAP and CIS (group MIS platform)
- Ensure appropriate authorization structures and access controls
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement
8) IT Governance & Risk Oversight
- Support IT-related decision-making including infrastructure and procurement strategies
- Ensure governance around software usage, licensing, and compliance
- Mitigate legal and operational risks related to IT systems and tools
9) External Stakeholder Management
- Interface with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and group controlling
- Align local practices with Würth Group requirements
E) GCC (WBS) Specific Requirements:
- Experience in Global Capability Center (GCC) environments
- Understanding of service-based business models and cost structures
- Experience with cost-plus pricing models and intercompany billing
- Ability to manage multi-entity and international financial structures
- Exposure to global delivery and service centre operations
F) Expatriate & International Payroll Management:
- Experience in handling expatriate compensation structures
- Understanding of high-income salary frameworks and tax equalization
- Knowledge of cross-border taxation and optimization strategies
- Ability to manage expatriate compliance and reporting requirements
