We are seeking a strategic Head of Data to define, build, and govern our core Data Platform. In this role, you will establish a high-velocity, trusted service layer , empowering decentralized teams through a Data-as-a-Product model and operationalizing Gen AI capabilities globally
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Tech Modernisation: Define the 3-5 year Global Data Strategy and Modern Data Architecture (Data Mesh/Lakehouse model) , driving competitive advantage through advanced tooling like MLOps, Vector DBs, and Gen AI infrastructure.
- Platform Enablement: Mandate the Data-as-a-Product operating model and oversee the build of core platform components to integrate ML/analytical outputs into downstream workflows.
- Operations & Governance: Ensure high availability and cost-efficiency of platform services , enforce a robust Data Governance Framework (MDM, Data Quality) , and maintain strict compliance with global data privacy regulations.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team while maturing a global analyst footprint across multiple time zones.
Requirements
- Education: Postgraduate or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in Data, Analytics, or Data Science , including 5+ years in a senior leadership (Head of) role within a complex, global, platform-focused environment.
- Technical Mastery: Expert command of Data Mesh, MLOps, and Gen AI infrastructure , with a proven track record of building and scaling cloud-native Data Platforms.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional C-suite communication and success implementing formal Data Governance within a self-service, decentralized model.
