Minimum of 15+ years of experience in data management
Experience managing globally distributed technology teams platforms with an added advantage of working with UK & India Stakeholders
Strong leadership experience and ability to manage and mentor team of data specialists.
Strong presentation, articulation skills and Agile Delivery experience
Track record of operating and presenting to senior leadership level CDO, CTO, CIO
Experience managing delivery budgets (up to multi-million s), defining OKRs
Experience in capacity management, hiring, training, staffing, capability building
Setting up and driving the local operating model for data teams.
Defining governance/controls framework covering data security, ownership, quality, regulations in line with group policy and standards
Deep digital technology expertise including:
Strong architectural knowledge with one or more of Modern Data platforms (on-prem cloud), Event Driven architectures and real-time or near-real-time data ingestion and consumption
Applied knowledge of data warehousing.
Strong background in modern data architectures platforms, cloud infrastructure and big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt or similar.
Experience of data platform migration projects.
Experience with database administration best practises and approaches
Data Platform development and integration (bespoke and package)
Data governance
Experience in delivering enterprise scale transformation while demonstrating breadth and depth of knowledge across a number of the listed technologies:
Java, Scala, Scala, Python
Streaming and batch architecture (e.g., Kafka, Kafka streams, Spark, Flink)
SQL, NoSQL and NewSQL (e.g., MS-SQL, Mongo)
Cloud Services (e.g., MS Azure, GCP)
Strong academic background in a relevant discipline
Openness to travel to Hyderabad or the UK as part of the role
Responsibilities
Leading aspects of design, development, and maintenance of data operations and database management approach.
Ensuring the availability, scalability and performance of data pipelines.
Implementing processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available to key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
Ensuring sufficient testing and observability of data pipelines exists and metadata capture, data lineage tracking, and data cataloguing is in place.
Supporting the enablement of self-service analytics capability within other functions.
Inspiring, developing, and managing a high-performing team of data operations and DBA professionals.
Identifying and implementing new solutions and technologies to improve the company's data analytics capabilities.
Collaborating with analytics and business teams to improve data that feed business intelligence tools and data science, increase data accessibility and foster data-driven decision making across the organisation.
Cooperating with wider IT and other departments to ensure data security and compliance of solutions.
Managing the platform and delivery of our external transformation and solution consulting services partner(s) to make sure they deliver to our requirements.
Contributing to a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Staying up to date with the latest data management and DBA trends.
Building and maintaining relationships with external data vendors and partners.
Actively collaborate with the India Leadership to propel the GCC Maturity Journey of the organisation
Build the second line leadership within the larger Data team into a self-performing , high capability leadership
Represent OSBI at key Industry forums as part of the branding journey of Technology.
Drive OSBI Specific Initiatives while aligning and actively engaging the Group's stakeholders.
