About the Job
As the Head – Data Management, you will be the strategic architect and operational leader of
the end-to-end data function powering Tanla's global telecom-grade platforms, including Wisely and Trubloq. This is a high-impact executive role sitting at the critical intersection of high-velocity telecom messaging and BFSI-grade data integrity. You will be responsible for the roadmap, scalability, and security of data environments that process billions of real-time transactions,
ensuring they meet the most stringent regulatory and performance benchmarks in the industry.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Leadership & Organizational Excellence:
- Visionary Roadmap: Define and execute a multi-year data strategy that supports Tanla's
- transition toward advanced AI-driven analytics and global expansion.
- Team Scaling: Lead and mentor a high-performing organization encompassing Data Engineering, DBA, MIS, and Data Governance.
- Budgetary Oversight: Manage CapEx/OpEx for the data department, optimizing infrastructure costs across on-premises and hybrid-cloud environments.
2.High-Throughput Telecom & Messaging Systems:
- Real-time Processing: Drive the architecture for high-throughput messaging platforms, ensuring sub-millisecond latency for large-scale telecom transactions.
- Data Reliability: Build always-on data pipelines capable of handling massive seasonal spikes in traffic without compromising data consistency.
3.DLT, Compliance & Regulatory Engineering
- DLT Stewardship: Oversee systems supporting Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) for scrubbing, consent management, and auditability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all data architectures strictly adhere to global and local standards, including TRAI (TCCCPR) and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
- Privacy by Design: Implement zero-trust and data-blindness protocols to ensure subscriber privacy is baked into the platform's DNA.
4.BFSI Data Systems & Risk Management
- Audit Readiness: Maintain flawless audit trails for BFSI clients, ensuring financial reporting and reconciliation data is immutable and verifiable.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop robust disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) for all critical data repositories.
What We Are Looking For
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in modern data stacks (SQL/NoSQL, ClickHouse, Aerospike, NATS, or Kafka) and high-performance persistence layers.
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record in the Telecom or Fintech/BFSI sectors, specifically handling high-concurrency transactional data.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Intimate familiarity with telecom signaling (SS7/SIGTRAN), messaging protocols (SMPP), and Indian regulatory frameworks (TRAI).
- Executive Presence: Ability to translate complex data initiatives into business value for C-suite stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.

- System Uptime: 99.99% availability of critical data platforms.
- Data Latency: Achieving defined millisecond targets for real-time scrubbing and routing.
- Compliance Score: 100% adherence to regulatory audits and data privacy mandates.
