Head of Data Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the data engineering strategy, balancing innovation with pragmatism.
• Ensure data quality, availability, and accessibility across the organization, establishing SLAs and accountability.
• Optimize data infrastructure and operations for scalability, cost-efficiency, and ease of use.
• Build and lead a high-performing data engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity, and impact.
• Partner with data science and ML teams to operationalize models and create AI-ready pipelines.
• Translate technical capabilities into business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Run and continuously improve core data programs, including ETL/ELT, data observability, metadata governance, and lineage.
• Stay current with emerging tools and practices in modern data stacks, adopting only what drives impact.
• Develop and communicate a data engineering roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
• Mentor and grow future leaders within the team while managing large-scale data platforms.
