Role Overview:
- Lead and develop an international team of data experts to deliver advanced analytics solutions.
- Own the design and implementation of scalable DataOps pipelines and modern data architecture.
- Serve as a consultant, mentor, and enabler to internal stakeholders and other data teams.
- Drive digitalization and operationalization of data and AI initiatives across Siemens Mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead an international team of 10 data experts, fostering high performance and continuous learning.
- Mentor and enable internal customers and other data teams to leverage analytics solutions.
- Create visibility for team activities, communicate successes, and demonstrate business value.
Data Architecture & Analytics
- Shape and maintain overall data architecture, including data models, metadata standards, and security practices.
- Lead technical ownership of key data analytics projects and coordinate with business stakeholders.
- Implement production-ready DataOps pipelines to operationalize analytics solutions.
- Continuously innovate the modern data stack, incorporating new tools, products, and technologies.
Consulting & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on data-driven decision-making.
- Provide guidance on data modeling, governance, and best practices in analytics.
- Ensure alignment of data initiatives with enterprise strategy and digitalization goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- University degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with data modeling frameworks such as Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, Kimball, and Inmon.
- Expert programming skills in SQL and preferably Python.
- Deep understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and agile software development for data and AI projects.
- Working experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and associated data warehousing/analytics tools (Snowflake, dbt Cloud).
- Proven experience leading and managing high-performing data teams.
- Strong command of English; German is a plus.
