Head of Cloud Infrastructure
GCP · Mandatory15+ Years Experience Leadership Role FinOps
Key Responsibilities:
- Infra Provisioning: Right size GCP resources from development team asks, accounting for NFRs like peak API workload, latency, and security.
- Strategy & Vision: Own and drive cloud platform strategy — infrastructure security, availability, performance, and cost management. Lead multiyear transformation initiatives.
- AI & Automation Enablement: Champion AI-driven automation to simplify developer workflows, improve platform reliability, and increase operational efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and mentor high-performing teams of cloud platform engineers and observability specialists.
- Security & Compliance: Drive security and compliance best practices across cloud infrastructure and services. Oversee incident and problem management to improve platform reliability.
- Cloud Migration
- Drive migrations from OnPrem and GCP to other hyperscalers like Azure and AWS.
- Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of engineering leadership with experience in cloud platform architecture and operations.
- Prior development experience to derive optimal hardware requirements from software functional specifications.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and platform automation at scale.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Deep expertise in GCP (mandatory), Azure/AWS (good to have), and container orchestration — Kubernetes, Docker.
- In-depth hands-on experience in provisioning GCP features — LoadBalancer, Cloud Run, BigQuery, etc.
- Strong FinOps experience around GCP Billing and expertise in extracting fine-grained billing data using BigQuery.
- Experience with developer platforms, CI/CD, and IaC tools — Terraform, GitLab — and cloud governance.
- Strong background in observability and open-source monitoring tools for large-scale systems.
- Ability to engage with executive leadership and drive strategic outcomes across technical and business areas.
