Founded in 2010 by four passionate animal advocates, Youth Organization in Defence of Animals (YODA) is a registered charity based in Mumbai dedicated to fostering human-animal coexistence. YODA focuses on providing prompt medical care for abandoned and injured animals, rehabilitating mentally distressed animals, and sheltering homeless or aging animals until they are ready for adoption or release. The organization also conducts vaccination and sterilization programs to reduce stray populations and prevent zoonotic diseases, such as rabies. Additionally, YODA actively engages in education and awareness programs to prevent animal cruelty and promote compassion.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Goa for the position of Head of Animal Welfare Centre. The individual will oversee the shelter's daily operations, manage and support staff, coordinate animal care and rehabilitation, and ensure compliance with animal welfare standards. The Head of the Centre will also develop strategic initiatives, manage budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve the welfare of animals under YODA's care. Moreover, responsibilities include organizing events, driving awareness campaigns, and maintaining donor and volunteer relationships to further the organization's mission.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, team management, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in planning and executing animal rehabilitation, vaccination, and sterilization programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder management and public engagement
• Experience in developing and managing operational budgets
• Familiarity with animal welfare is beneficial
