The Head of Admissions at Shrewsbury India leads and manages the entire admissions and enrolment process, ensuring alignment with the school's mission to nurture each pupil's potential, its holistic whole-person philosophy, and its rigorous British-based academic standards. This role drives enrolment growth and enhances the school's reputation in India and internationally, while providing prospective families with a premium, values-driven admissions experience in line with Shrewsbury's standards of excellence.
Role Description
Strategic Planning & Enrollment Growth
- Develop and implement an annual admissions strategy aligned with the school's long-term growth objectives.
- Conduct market analysis (local and international) to identify key target segments for student recruitment and growth opportunities.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team to periodically review, update and improve admissions process, policies, and strategy.
Full Admissions Lifecycle Management
- Provide a welcoming, genuine, and premium parent admissions experience being the primary point of contact for prospective families, guiding them through enquiries, admissions criteria, testing, placement, and induction.
- Oversee the entire admissions process from initial enquiry through visit/tour coordination, applications, assessments, interviews, offer letters, enrolment and induction.
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, applicants, enrollments, waitlists and withdrawals.
Marketing, Branding & Outreach
- Collaborate with the school's Marketing & Communications team to ensure that promotional materials such as the website, brochures, social media and outreach content reflect the school's values and unique offerings.
- Lead admissions-related outreach and recruitment initiatives: open days, school tours, recruiting events, presentations at feeder schools or community organizations and virtual discovery sessions for prospective families
- Build and maintain relationships with feeder schools, education consultants/agencies, and community partners to generate referrals and broaden the candidate pool.
- Team Leadership and Coordination
- Supervise and lead the admissions team: set clear responsibilities, provide training, ensure adherence to processes, and support them in delivering high-quality service to prospective families.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to coordinate admissions with academic planning, scholarships, and induction/orientation of new students.
- Analyze admissions data and metrics using the school's CRM HubSpot (inquiries, conversion rates, demographics, yield, retention) to inform strategy, improve processes, and meet recruitment/enrolment targets.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business
- Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field is typically required. A Master's degree is advantageous.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in
- additional languages can be beneficial in a multicultural environment.
Experience
- Admissions Leadership: Minimum of 57 years of experience in admissions or related fields, with at least 4 years in a leadership role, preferably within an international or private school setting.
- International Exposure: Experience working in diverse cultural settings and understanding of international education systems.
- Team Management: Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing admissions team.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project-management skills to oversee admissions strategy, team, and execution of events/processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills to liaise with prospective families, staff, agencies/consultants, and external partners.
