Job Description

Role Overview:

The Head – New Projects & NSO will be responsible for leading end-to-end execution of new store openings, including site evaluation, store design, project execution, and timely handover. The role will ensure all retail spaces are delivered in line with brand standards, timelines, and budgets, while bringing strong expertise in interior design and space planning.

This role will drive the scalability of store expansion through efficient project management, vendor coordination, and design excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. New Store Opening (NSO) Strategy & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end execution of new store openings across regions
  • Develop project timelines, milestones, and rollout plans aligned with business expansion goals
  • Ensure stores are launched on time, within budget, and as per brand standards
  • Track and manage multiple projects simultaneously

2. Interior Design & Store Planning

  • Lead store design concepts, layouts, and space planning in line with brand identity
  • Work closely with design teams to create visually appealing and functional retail spaces
  • Optimize store layouts for customer experience, sales flow, and operational efficiency
  • Standardize design templates for scalability across locations

3. Project Management & Execution

  • Oversee civil, interior, MEP, and fixture installations for new stores
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycle from site handover to store launch
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Conduct regular site visits and progress reviews

4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Identify, onboard, and manage contractors, architects, and vendors
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and timelines with vendors
  • Coordinate with landlords, mall management, and local authorities
  • Work closely with internal teams (Retail, VM, Procurement, Finance, Legal)

5. Cost & Budget Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets for store fit-outs and expansions
  • Track project costs and drive cost optimization initiatives
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources without compromising quality

6. Compliance & Approvals

  • Ensure all necessary approvals, licenses, and statutory compliances are in place
  • Coordinate with local authorities for store approvals and permits
  • Ensure adherence to safety, legal, and operational standards

7. Process Standardization & Scalability

  • Create SOPs and best practices for store rollout processes
  • Drive standardization of design, materials, and execution processes
  • Implement tools and trackers for project monitoring and reporting

8. Post-Launch Handover & Support

  • Ensure smooth handover of stores to retail operations teams
  • Address post-launch issues and ensure store readiness
  • Capture learnings and improve future rollout processes

Key Metrics (KPIs):

  • Number of stores launched vs plan
  • Project completion timelines (TAT adherence)
  • Cost per store / budget adherence
  • Store readiness & quality scores
  • Vendor performance metrics
  • Time-to-market for new stores
