The position initially will be responsible for establishing, and then directly managing a legal team in Client's Bangalore, India office. The team consists of transactional attorneys, paralegals, and administrative positions, with full integration into the Client Legal Department. Certain positions will functionally report to the Deputy General Counsel - Global Contracts, while other positions will functionally report to other areas of the Client Legal Department, supporting other business teams, objectives and initiatives.This position requires prior experience successfully establishing, integrating, managing and maintaining offshore legal teams. Additionally, superior leadership, communication and presentation skills, ability to manage laterally and in a matrixed business organization, and to collaborate with colleagues in multiple time zones and geographies, functions and cultural orientations, are all essential. Knowledge of and experience negotiating technology arrangements, facilitating and effectuating complex channel sales program arrangements, and satisfying contractual, legal and regulatory compliance, is required.Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

A successful General Counsel should have:
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.LL.B. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school in India
12+ years practice experience, with part in large firm or medium technology law firm, and part in-house counsel at relatively similar business environment to Client
Significant experience:
Significant contract negotiation experience in multiple jurisdictions, with specific focus in United States, United Kingdom, Australia and India, especially with respect to technology/cloud based agreements, sale and distribution agreements, and a variety of other business models
Excellent verbal communications, negotiation techniques, and legal drafting skills
Deep understanding of intellectual property concepts
Understanding of privacy legislation and compliance requirements, and terms and concepts applicable to information security and advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence
Dispute management experience, and proven success resolving disputes (both litigation and pre-litigation matters)
Management team member experience
