Job Description

  • Lease Agreements:
    • Drafting & vetting of various legal documents - Agreement for Sale, Lease Deed, Leave & License Agreement Development / JV Agreement, Deed of Transfer, Power of Attorney, MOU etc.
    • Lead and close high value commercial agreements/ leasing agreements.
    • Draft, review, and finalize a range of agreements to ensure business interests are protected while complying with legal frameworks.
    • Standardize contracts and templates to improve speed and efficiency across the commercial function.
    • Drafting of plaints, written statements, issuing and replying to statutory legal notices, counters, company petitions, complaints etc.
  • Mergers, Acquisitions, and Corporate Transactions:
    • Provide legal oversight for M&A activities, strategic investments, and other key transactions.
    • Coordinate due diligence processes and ensure compliance with legal requirements in every phase of the transaction.
  • Strategic Legal Advisory:
    • Spearhead legal team and lend strategic support on all aspects of legal matters related to the Commercial Real Estate Business.
    • Partner with senior leadership to align legal strategies with the business's growth objectives.
    • Provide actionable insights on business-critical legal matters, mergers, partnerships, and expansion efforts.
    • Anticipate legal risks in new markets or ventures and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
    • Ensure the company complies with all laws relevant to its commercial operations.
    • Monitor and interpret changing regulations that could impact the business, ensuring proactive compliance.
    • Develop frameworks and policies to strengthen internal governance and regulatory adherence.
  • Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management:
    • Manage any potential or active disputes, working closely with external law firms, if necessary.
    • Represent the organization in regulatory investigations, mediations, or arbitration to minimize legal liabilities.
    • Build strategies for pre-litigation risk management and smooth dispute resolution.
  • Risk Management & Innovation:
    • Identify, assess, and develop risk management strategies to address legal challenges arising from business growth.
    • Develop innovative legal frameworks and solutions to support the company's digital transformation and new product launches.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Build and lead a high-performing legal team, developing internal talent to align with future business needs.
    • Foster a collaborative relationship between the legal function and other business units.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the liaison between external legal counsel, regulators, and internal leadership to ensure seamless communication.
    • Establish strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other external partners to stay ahead of legal developments

The Successful Applicant

  • A degree in Law from a recognised institution.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Proven expertise in property and real estate law, with a focus on commercial leasing.
  • Strong understanding of legal compliance within Real estate industry
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience in dispute resolution and working with external legal counsel.
