Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Legal Leadership
- Lead the Legal Compliance function and act as principal legal advisor to senior leadership.
- Provide strategic guidance on business expansion, partnerships, and global engineering collaborations.
- Translate legal requirements into pragmatic, business-enabling solutions.
Corporate Governance & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Indian laws including corporate, labor, competition, and technology regulations.
- Drive corporate governance frameworks aligned with Mercedes-Benz Group standards.
- Lead internal compliance programs including ethics, anti-corruption, and regulatory reporting.
Technology & Engineering Legal Advisory
- Advise on complex agreements for software development, automotive technologies, data platforms, AI, and emerging tech.
- Support cross-border engineering collaborations with global Mercedes-Benz entities.
Commercial Contracting & Negotiation
- Draft, negotiate, and execute complex commercial agreements (technology development, vendor contracts, partnerships, IP licensing).
- Establish contract governance and risk mitigation mechanisms.
Intellectual Property & Innovation Protection
- Guide engineering teams on IP protection, patent management, technology transfer, and licensing.
- Support strategic protection of proprietary automotive technologies.
Employment & Labor Law Advisory
- Partner with HR on employment law matters, workforce policies, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
- Ensure compliance with Indian labor regulations and evolving labor codes.
Litigation & Dispute Management
- Manage litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.
- Collaborate with external law firms on high-impact cases and develop proactive risk-minimization strategies.
Risk Management & Ethics
- Identify legal risks across operations, partnerships, and technology programs.
- Develop preventive risk frameworks and promote a strong culture of ethics and compliance.
Global Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with global legal teams across Mercedes-Benz.
- Support international projects involving cross-jurisdictional legal frameworks.
- Represent MBRDI in global legal forums and governance councils.
