Job Description

The Head of IT CMDB will provide in-depth knowledge of configuration management processes, including practical application within multiple environments. The Configuration Manager will be responsible for implementing appropriate business processes as well as steer entire day-to-day execution through the asset lifecycle within the program and will enforce configuration management standards. Additional he/she is accountable to report the status of Service Integration tools (e.g. CMDB accuracy and completeness) regularly).

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Ensure that the Service Asset and Configuration Management process is performed as designed. 
  • Ensure day-to-day execution of Configuration and Service Integration (CMDB) with all related IT units and external vendors in regards of configuration assets. Ensure pre-defined activities are aligned with the change management process
  • Review and agree to improvements to existing CM processes. Ensure data quality, integrity and security of CM database.
  • Provide regular status reports of CM database of accuracy and completeness. Schedule audits on CM database and ensure implementing audit recommendations.
  • Ensure in cooperation with company's security guidelines avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items
  • Ensure proper version controls of software deliverables. Plan, publicize and is accountable for the implementation of an updated Configuration Management System (CMS).
  • Ensure that the CMS is populated with CIs according to policy and are uniquely identified with naming conventions.
  • Keeping IT Service Integration Tools functional and secure making necessary alterations to or corrections in the IT Service Integration Tools
  • Document the use and alterations made to the IT Service Integration Tools, monitor the operation, use information systems and compile statistics on them. Ensure staff comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, life-cycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field from recognized university with 15 yrs of total experience
  • 3+ Years experience in Configuration management & 5+ years of leadership experience in Telecom/IT
  • At least 1 year as Service Delivery Manager for IT Service Integration Tools (Service Now, UPMX, EISEB)
  • Understanding as well background in processes creation with purpose of enabling and simplifying operations
  • Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal, negotiation and training skills – both remote and in-person
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience in Event management based on ITIL. Proven experience as Solution architect in multi technological environment
  • Able to act in multidisciplinary environment and think strategically in terms of culture, behavior, business processes and technology and tools

It would be nice if you also had

  • ITIL V4 expert certification
  • Six Sigma
  • Understanding of IT Management methods, tools, principles, and standards, such as Lean, Agile, DevOps.
