About Neev Energy
Neev Energy designs, builds, and operates connected street lighting systems across Indian cities, managing hundreds of thousands of light points through long-term government contracts. We combine EPC project execution with IoT-enabled asset management through our proprietary platform, HyperDash, across a multi-entity structure spanning EPC, operations and maintenance, and a technology subsidiary.
The opportunity
Finance at Neev is a business-critical function, not a back-office one. We need a leader who understands our operating model deeply, manages cash flows intelligently, and brings active banking relationships and commercial instinct to structure project financing creatively. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role — you will build the processes, own the relationships, and produce the outputs yourself.
Key responsibilities
1. Cash flow planning and management
– Own rolling cash flow forecasts by project and entity; maintain a real-time view of the group's liquidity position at all times.
– Coordinate with project teams and operational leads to ground forecasts in operational reality — billing milestones, collections cycles, payroll, and procurement outflows.
– Identify cash stress points early across any project or entity and put mitigating actions in place before they become liquidity events.
2. Project financing and banking relationships
– Structure project financing across the portfolio: working capital facilities, bank guarantees, letters of credit, and equipment finance suited to EPC milestone payments and long-term O&M contracts.
– Own direct, active relationships with banks and NBFCs — a current network that allows you to move quickly when financing is needed and negotiate from a position of credibility.
– Drive cost of capital down through proactive renegotiation of facilities, creative use of receivables and asset-based instruments, and disciplined treasury management.
3. Profitability and financial reporting
– Maintain a current view of profitability at project level — cost burn, margin trends, and billing status — working closely with project and O&M leads.
– Manage financial consolidation across entities: ensure inter-company transactions are correctly structured and consolidated group financials are available monthly.
– Produce a monthly MIS presenting project-level and group financial performance to the CEO; drive annual budgeting and track performance against targets.
4. Internal coordination and investor support
– Act as financial business partner to project managers, the O&M head, and procurement — translating operational inputs into projections and constraints back into planning.
– Ensure billing is timely, receivables are tracked, and government payment delays are escalated and managed with the collections function.
– Support the CEO on investor relations, fundraising due diligence, financial models, and lender presentations as required.
What we're looking for
Experience
– 15 to 20 years in finance with significant experience in infrastructure, EPC, or project-based businesses where working capital management and project financing are central.
– Demonstrated experience structuring project financing: working capital lines, bank guarantees, LC facilities, equipment finance, and instruments such as invoice discounting against government receivables.
– Direct, working relationships with banks and NBFCs — a current network and credibility that allows you to move quickly when a facility is needed.
– Track record of managing cash flows across multiple concurrent projects, maintaining liquidity without disruption to operations.
– Prior experience in a multi-entity group structure is preferred. CA qualifications are strongly preferred; EPC or infrastructure sector background essential.
Capabilities
– Business fluency: you understand how money moves through an EPC and O&M business and make financial decisions that serve operational outcomes, not just compliance ones.
– Financing creativity: you have structured solutions under constraints and accessed capital from non-obvious sources. You know what lenders look for and how to package a deal.
– Cash flow discipline: rigorous about forecasting, proactive about gaps, never surprised by a liquidity crunch.
Senior, commercially-oriented role. Compensation includes a variable component linked to financial performance outcomes. Location: Delhi NCR.
