Role Overview

We are establishing a new fertilizer trading and sourcing vertical focused on imports from the Middle East into India. The role requires a commercially driven professional with deep market understanding, established industry relationships, and experience dealing with Government PSUs, cooperatives, institutional buyers, and fertilizer distribution networks.

The candidate will play a key role in developing this business into a long-term revenue stream by driving sourcing, sales, strategic partnerships, and market penetration.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Trade Expansion:
  • Develop and expand fertilizer trading operations across India
  • Identify business opportunities with PSUs, cooperatives, traders, and large agri-input companies
  • Build long-term customer relationships for imported fertilizer products
  • Establish market presence for sourcing from the Middle East
Government & PSU Relationship Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships with Government bodies, PSUs, and procurement teams
  • Understand tender processes, procurement cycles, and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate with institutional buyers and regulatory stakeholders
International Sourcing & Commercial Negotiation:
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers from the Middle East
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, shipment terms, and commercial structures
  • Monitor international market trends, freight, and pricing movements
Market Intelligence & Strategy:
  • Track fertilizer demand, pricing trends, government policies, and subsidy structures
  • Provide strategic insights for product positioning and market expansion
  • Identify high-potential products and regions for business growth
Operations & Coordination:
  • Coordinate with logistics, shipping, documentation, and finance teams
  • Ensure smooth execution of import and delivery operations
  • Support contract execution and payment follow-ups

Candidate Profile
  • 8–15+ years of experience in fertilizer trading/business development
  • Strong network within Indian fertilizer industry
  • Existing relationships with PSUs, cooperatives, and institutional buyers preferred
  • Understanding of import trade, international sourcing, and commodity markets
  • Commercially driven with strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in handling large-volume commodity transactions
