Purpose of the Role
The Head – Enterprise Applications is accountable for end-to-end ownership of the enterprise application landscape with primary focus on Workday and Oracle Fusion (and related SaaS platforms), ensuring the platforms are stable, secure, compliant, and value-generating. The role drives platform strategy and roadmap, governs delivery across run + transform, and establishes a product-led operating model suited for a Global Capability Center (GCC)—moving from ticket fulfillment to business outcome ownership
Core Responsibilities
1) Enterprise Application Leadership (Run + Transform)
- Own application strategy, architecture alignment, roadmap, delivery, and operations for enterprise platforms with focus on Workday and Oracle Fusion.
- Ensure platform stability, security, controls, and compliance; drive continuous improvement through standardization and automation.
- Establish clear service ownership across modules, integrations, data flows, roles, and environments (Prod/DR/Test).
2) Product Management & GCC Mindset (Critical)
- Operate platforms as products, not projects: define product vision, user journeys, adoption goals, value metrics, and a roadmap tied to enterprise outcomes.
- Build product rituals appropriate for a GCC: discovery with business, backlog management, quarterly planning, release governance, and benefits tracking.
- Drive stakeholder alignment on what value the platform should create (cost, compliance, cycle time reduction, experience) and ensure execution tracks to those outcomes.
3) Program / Portfolio Delivery Management
- Lead major change programs (implementations, migrations, module rollouts, process redesign), ensuring integrated plans, dependency management, and delivery quality.
- Own governance forums, executive reviews, risk/issue management, and decision capture—ensuring predictable execution.
4) Integration, Data, and Platform Interoperability
- Own enterprise integration approach between Workday, Oracle Fusion, and surrounding systems (identity/access, reporting, payroll, procurement, travel/expense, project systems, etc.).
- Reduce integration complexity and risk by driving standard patterns, rationalization, and strong interface governance.
- Ensure robust reporting/analytics enablement (e.g., embedded analytics and enterprise reporting visibility) and data quality controls.
5) Service Delivery & Operations Excellence
- Oversee incident/problem/change management for enterprise apps; ensure SLA adherence and strong root-cause practices.
- Mature production readiness, release management, and operational controls with measurable improvements in MTTR, recurring incidents, and change success rates.
6) Vendor, Financial, and Commercial Management
- Manage SI/AMS vendor performance and commercial outcomes (SOW governance, productivity, quality, cost optimization).
- Drive platform cost efficiency and value realization—leveraging enterprise license optimization opportunities where applicable.
7) Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a high-performing team of product owners/platform leads, solution/integration leads, analysts, and support managers.
- Create strong career paths, skill-building plans, and a culture of ownership aligned to GCC value creation.
Stakeholders & Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, HR, Procurement, Business Operations, Security/Risk, Architecture, and Global IT leaders.
- Collaborate with platform owners and dependent application teams to ensure cohesive enterprise outcomes and minimal fragmentation.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Experience: 20+ years in enterprise applications / digital transformation; approximately 10 years leading large-scale enterprise platforms and teams.
- Proven leadership of Workday and/or Oracle Fusion landscapes across implementation + steady-state operations (run + transform).
- Strong program/portfolio delivery experience with executive governance, risk management, and cross-functional stakeholder leadership.
- Demonstrated product management exposure in a GCC (product mindset, roadmaps/OKRs, value metrics, adoption, stakeholder discovery).
- Experience with SaaS operating models, vendor management (SI/AMS), and cost/value optimization.
