Job Description

Havells Centre for Research & Innovation is seeking an experienced and visionary Head – Digital Engineering & Virtual Validation to lead the development of world-class Digital Engineering and CAE capabilities across our product portfolio. This strategic leadership role will drive simulation-led product development, virtual validation, engineering methods, and digital innovation to enable faster, smarter, and right-first-time product decisions.

The role will be instrumental in establishing Digital Engineering as a core pillar of Havells product development ecosystem, reducing development cycles, enhancing product quality, minimizing engineering risks, and enabling virtual sign-off before tooling release.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Engineering & Capability Building

  • Define and execute the Digital Engineering and Virtual Validation roadmap for Havells.
  • Build and lead a high-performing multi-disciplinary CAE team.
  • Develop engineering methods, simulation governance frameworks, and reusable best practices.
  • Drive organizational CAE maturity and institutionalize simulation-led design processes.

Simulation & Virtual Validation

  • Lead capabilities across: CFD & Thermal Simulation
  • Structural & Durability Analysis
  • Impact & Drop Simulation
  • Electromagnetics & Motor Simulation
  • Multi-Physics & System-Level Simulation
  • Virtual Validation Frameworks
  • Enable predictive engineering and right-first-time product development.
  • Reduce physical prototyping and late-stage design iterations through simulation-led decisions.

Moldflow & Manufacturability Engineering

  • Establish Moldflow as a strategic enterprise capability.
  • Integrate manufacturability simulations into tooling-readiness reviews.
  • Improve tooling quality and reduce manufacturing risks before SOP.

NPD Integration & Engineering Excellence

  • Embed CAE and virtual validation into New Product Development (NPD) stage-gate processes.
  • Influence product architecture and critical engineering decisions early in the development cycle.
  • Drive adoption of virtual sign-offs for selected engineering domains.

Technology, Innovation & Knowledge Management

  • Lead CAE software strategy, simulation technology roadmap, and HPC infrastructure planning.
  • Develop simulation data governance, digital asset libraries, and knowledge repositories.
  • Drive simulation-led innovation, digital experimentation, and IP generation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Development, Design Excellence, Quality, Manufacturing, Reliability, NVH, and AI teams.
  • Support AI-enabled engineering initiatives through physics-based models and simulation datasets.
  • Champion data-driven engineering decisions across businesses.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • Ph.D., M.Tech, or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Computational Engineering, or related disciplines.

Experience

  • 15–20+ years of experience in Digital Engineering, CAE, Virtual Validation, or Simulation Engineering.
  • Proven track record in building engineering capabilities, methodologies, governance frameworks, and simulation-driven product development practices.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving engineering decisions within complex product organizations.
