- Design Strategy & Architectural Leadership
- Define and lead the overall architectural and design vision aligned with organizational objectives.
- Translate business requirements into design concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, cost, and sustainability.
- Establish design philosophy, standards, and guidelines across projects.
- Oversee endtoend design lifecycle: concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction documentation.
- Ensure timely delivery of designs in line with project schedules and budgets.
- Review and approve drawings, BOQs, specifications, and material selections.
- Coordinate architectural designs with structural, MEP, landscape, interior, and sustainability consultants.
- Collaborate closely with project management, construction, procurement, marketing, and operations teams.
- Act as the single point of accountability for design-related decisions.
- Ensure compliance with local building byelaws, development control regulations, NBC, fire, environmental, and municipal requirements.
- Manage statutory approvals and liaison with authorities through internal or external agencies.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations impacting design and development.
- Implement design quality control and peer review mechanisms.
- Drive value engineering without compromising safety, performance, or aesthetics.
- Optimize designs for constructability, lifecycle cost, maintenance, and operational efficiency.
- Incorporate sustainability principles, green building norms, and energy-efficient design practices.
- Guide adoption of new materials, construction technology, BIM, and design software.
- Promote innovation while maintaining feasibility and compliance.
- Appoint, manage, and review performance of architects, consultants, and design partners.
- Negotiate scope, deliverables, timelines, and fees.
- Ensure consultancy outputs meet organizational standards.
- Lead and mentor in-house design and architectural teams.
- Build technical capabilities, review performance, and encourage best practices.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and design excellence culture.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch).
- Registered Architect with Council of Architecture (CoA) mandatory.
- 15+ years of experience in architecture and large-scale project design.
- Prior experience in real estate, infrastructure, industrial, or large mixeduse projects preferred.
- Leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams.
