Head – Deploy & Strategic Initiatives I Packaging Development

Purpose of the Role:

The role is responsible for driving end-to-end deployment and scale-up of packaging initiatives across manufacturing units, ensuring seamless execution from development to commercialization. Additionally, the role will lead and deliver high-impact strategic initiatives aligned with business goals, focusing on innovation, efficiency, cost optimization, and quality enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Factory Trials & Commercialization

• Lead factory trials for new packaging developments and ensure smooth commercialization.
• Validate packaging performance and resolve technical challenges during trials.

2. Scale-up Across Units

• Drive standardization and replication of packaging solutions across MUs & CMUs.
• Ensure consistency in quality, cost, and performance during scale-up.

3. Transit Trials & Validation

• Conduct and evaluate transit trials to ensure packaging durability and integrity.
• Recommend improvements to minimize damages during logistics.

4. Factory Support

• Provide technical support to factories for packaging-related issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in packaging efficiency and quality.

5. Strategic Initiatives

• Lead key projects on cost optimization, innovation, and process improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver business-impacting initiatives.

Key skills:

1.Good knowledge of Flexibles, Cartons & Corrugated boxes

2.Good understanding of printing, lamination & other conversion processes

Qualification Required: PG Diploma in Packaging from IIP or SIES

Experience:

1) Mandatory: 20+ years of relevant experience in Packaging Development in a large FMCG Company

2) Preferred:

a) Experience in Packaging of Biscuits / Snacks / Confectionery

b) Experience in an MNC FMCG Company
