We are looking for an experienced Head of Commercial Project Management to lead the Commercial PM function for STG in Vadodara. This role combines financial leadership, strong governance, and people management across a significant project portfolio.
Your Role
As Head of Commercial Project Management, you will lead and develop a high‑performing commercial team responsible for end‑to‑end financial and commercial governance across STG projects. You will partner closely with Project Management and Business leadership to drive financial performance, risk management, and execution excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial & Financial Leadership
- End-to-end responsibility for project financials, including planning, forecasting, actuals, margins, risk provisions, and cash flow.
- Lead recurring financial and performance reviews with BU management (revenues, margins, costs, risks, receivables, cash flow).
- Ensure compliance with Siemens FRG, local GAAP, accounting standards, and internal control frameworks.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial Project Management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with Siemen Energy Global Team members on various matters pertaining to project management
Commercial Project Management & Controlling
- Oversee commercial governance of a diverse STG project portfolio, ensuring financial health and policy adherence.
- Ensure accurate invoicing, milestone billing, collections, and revenue recognition as per contractual terms.
- Oversee bank guarantees, bonds, and project securities.
- Support Project Managers in minimizing non‑conformance costs and implementing lessons learned.
- Ensure high‑quality commercial documentation and SAP‑based reporting for project and management reviews.
Risk, Contract & Claims Management
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including tax, insurance, currency, and contractual exposures.
- Ensure compliance with LOA guidelines and risk management processes.
- Participate in contract negotiations, claims, change orders, and variation management.
- Drive measures to improve project performance.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to Business Conduct Guidelines, promoting a culture of trust and integrity.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations (GST, PATAC, NCM, PE management), export control, and hedging/currency policies.
Essential
What You'll Need to Succeed
- CA / ICWA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
- At least 12 years experience in business finance including end‑to‑end P&L management, with strong exposure to commercial project management (preferably in energy or industrial projects).
- Strong understanding of project finance, contracts, and commercial risk management.
- Proven people leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
Good to Have
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, IPMA).
- Experience with international projects or global matrix organizations.
- Knowledge of regulations applicable to the power generation / industrial sector.
