The Payroll Subject Matter Expert will be responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting complex payroll processes within Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll. This role requires deep functional expertise in US Payroll, Union Payroll, US Tax processing, and payroll accounting distribution. The SME will advise clients on best practices, troubleshoot payroll issues, and design end-to-end payroll flows that meet business and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure advanced payroll requirements, including Payroll Accounting, Cost Allocation, and Accounting Distribution within Oracle Cloud Payroll.
- Provide subject matter expertise across Oracle HCM Cloud/Fusion Payroll, including configuration, testing, and documentation.
- Lead the design and execution of complex Payroll Flows and models in Oracle Cloud.
- Support Payroll Tax Processing for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities.
- Perform Mid-Year Balance Initialization and manage Payroll Parallel Run reconciliations.
- Understand client requirements and prepare Functional Design Documents for Payroll Interfaces, Reports, and Fast Formulas.
- Configure Payroll Modules using FSM, HDL, and other relevant Oracle tools.
- Ensure effective integration between Cloud Payroll and other HCM modules.
- Work with US retirement plan configurations including 401k, 403b, 457b, and related plans.
- Test and validate payroll business processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct triage sessions to identify issues, determine root causes, and recommend solutions for Payroll Cloud processing.
- Act as an advisor to clients on Oracle Cloud Payroll best practices and system usage.
- Develop and maintain customer-facing payroll documentation.
Experience Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Cloud/Fusion Payroll.
- In-depth expertise in US Payroll, Union Payroll, and US Taxation.
- Experience designing complex payroll flows and payroll accounting structures.
