Senior Microsoft Windows Systems Administrator
Location: Navi Mumbai, Onsite (Regular India Business Hours Shift, Alternate Saturdays working).
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and seasoned Senior Windows Systems Administrator to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the health, security, and scalability of our enterprise Windows Server environment. You will lead efforts in complex system administration, advanced automation, proactive security remediation, and the design of high-availability architectures.
The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert with over a decade of experience managing mission-critical infrastructure, possessing a deep-seated automate-first mindset and an uncompromising approach to system security.
Experience & Qualifications: -
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Windows Server Administration within a medium-to-large enterprise environment.
- Proven experience leading large-scale migration projects (e.g., physical to virtual, on-prem to cloud, or legacy OS upgrades).
- Certifications (Preferred): * Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/AZ-801).
- MCSE: Core Infrastructure (Legacy).
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP (a plus).
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5 days working from the office and Alternate Saturdays working.
Soft Skills: -
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to troubleshoot complex, intermittent performance issues across the full stack.
- Leadership: Experience mentoring junior administrators and providing technical escalation support.
- Documentation: Commitment to maintaining rigorous system documentation, network diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communication: Ability to translate complex technical risks into business-impact language for executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Administration: Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server environments (2019, 2022 onwards) across physical, virtual (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
- Security & Compliance: Lead security hardening initiatives using CIS benchmarks and STIGs. Manage end-to-end vulnerability remediation and ensure compliance with internal and external audits.
- Patch Management: Oversee the enterprise-wide patching lifecycle for OS and third-party applications using MECM (SCCM), WSUS, or automated cloud-native tools.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain sophisticated PowerShell scripts and modules to automate repetitive tasks, configuration management, and complex system deployments.
- High Availability & DR: Architect and manage Windows Failover Clusters, Load Balancing, and Multi-site Disaster Recovery solutions to ensure 24/7 business continuity.
- Identity & Directory Services: Manage a complex Active Directory environment, including Group Policy Object (GPO) management, DNS, DHCP, and Azure AD integration.
Technical Requirements
Core Administration
- OS Expertise: Deep architectural knowledge of Windows Server 2019, and 2022.
- Directory Services: Advanced management of Active Directory, Azure AD, Trust relationships, and Site/Services topology.
- Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, Firewalls, and Load Balancers in a Windows context.
Automation & Orchestration
- Scripting: Mastery of PowerShell (including Desired State Configuration - DSC) for system automation and reporting.
- Configuration Management: Experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet to maintain Infrastructure as Code.
Security & Remediation
- Patching Tools: Expert-level experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) or Ivanti.
- Hardening: Proven track record of securing systems against modern threat vectors and managing SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles.
- Monitoring: Proficiency with enterprise monitoring suites (SCOM, SolarWinds, or Datadog) to ensure proactive issue resolution.
High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Clustering: Extensive experience with Windows Failover Clustering and SQL Server Always On availability groups.
- Storage: Understanding of SAN/NAS technologies (iSCSI, Fibre Channel) and Software-Defined Storage (Storage Spaces Direct).
- Recovery: Implementation of backup and recovery strategies using Veeam, Commvault, or Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
