Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented HCC Coder to join our medical coding team. The ideal candidate will have 6m-2 years of experience in health care coding, particularly in Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) coding. This role involves reviewing medical records, ensuring accurate coding, and collaborating with healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding for health care services provided.
- Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures according to HCC guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in coding audits and quality assurance initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCC coding guidelines.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
