Role : Cyber Security Analyst (Entry-Level) (SIEM / IBM QRadar)
Job Summary
Entry-level Cyber Security Analyst responsible for monitoring and analyzing security alerts using SIEM tools such as IBM QRadar.
The role supports the security operations team in detecting, investigating, and responding to potential cyber threats within the organization's IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using IBM QRadar SIEM platform.
- Analyze log data from servers, network devices, firewalls, and applications.
- Identify suspicious activities, anomalies, and potential security incidents.
- Escalate confirmed or high-risk incidents to senior security analysts.
- Assist in basic incident investigation and documentation.
- Support vulnerability assessments and security monitoring activities.
- Maintain incident records and prepare basic security reports.
- Assist in tuning SIEM rules and correlation alerts under senior guidance.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and security monitoring.
- Knowledge of SIEM tools, preferably IBM QRadar.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Understanding of common threats such as phishing, malware, brute force attacks.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to document incidents and communicate findings.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in IT Security / SOC operations (freshers may apply).
- Basic knowledge of log analysis and security monitoring.
- Interest in cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CEH, or similar.
