Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced engineer capable of developing standalone and embedded electronic systems from concept to production. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in digital & analog circuit design, PCB development, system simulation, validation, and debugging, along with hands-on experience in board bring-up and compliance-oriented design.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Design & Development

  • Lead end-to-end electronic system design for embedded/medical devices
  • Design and simulate digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits (LTSpice, Proteus, etc.)
  • Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis
  • Ensure system robustness, safety, and scalability

2. BOM Management

  • Prepare and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Perform component selection considering cost, availability, lifecycle, and reliability
  • Identify alternate components and mitigate supply chain risks
  • Coordinate with procurement for sourcing and cost optimization

3. Schematic Design & Verification

  • Develop and review schematics for functional correctness and compliance
  • Validate power architecture, protection circuits, and interfaces
  • Ensure adherence to design guidelines, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Support design reviews and documentation updates

4. PCB Design & EMI/EMC Compliance

  • Develop PCB layouts ensuring EMI/EMC compatibility
  • Apply grounding, shielding, and filtering best practices
  • Ensure DFM/DFT compliance
  • Support EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing and optimization

5. Board Bring-Up & Debugging

  • Execute controlled power-on and board bring-up procedures
  • Debug hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer)
  • Validate power rails, clock signals, resets, and interfaces
  • Identify and resolve hardware issues at board level

6. Hardware Validation & System Integration

  • Conduct prototype assembly, testing, and debugging
  • Support system-level validation and reliability testing
  • Collaborate with firmware teams for interface debugging (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.)
  • Integrate hardware with mechanical and system-level components
  • Maintain issue tracking and validation logs

7. Compliance, Risk & Quality

  • Ensure designs meet applicable standards (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, RoHS, etc.)
  • Support EMC pre-compliance testing and validation
  • Contribute to risk management activities (DFMEA)
  • Assist in regulatory and certification documentation

8. Vendor & Manufacturing Coordination

  • Interface with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors
  • Ensure quality, manufacturability, and consistency in production
  • Support pilot builds and production readiness

9. Documentation

  • Maintain design documentation, BOM, and validation records
  • Prepare bring-up reports, test reports, and validation summaries
  • Ensure traceability and version control

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Electronics / Biomedical / Related field
  • Strong foundation in digital & analog circuit design and power electronics
  • Hands-on experience in board bring-up and hardware debugging
  • Experience with EDA tools (Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, KiCad, etc.)
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (LTSpice, PSpice, Proteus, etc.)
  • Knowledge of MCU-based systems (STM32, PIC, ESP, etc.)
  • Experience with communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, BLE, Wi-Fi)
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC design practices
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical or high-reliability electronics
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, CE/FDA certification processes
  • Exposure to firmware integration and embedded programming
  • Knowledge of thermal design, battery systems, and power management

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong hands-on debugging mindset (not just design-focused)
  • Ability to work with incomplete data and evolving systems
  • Ownership from design → validation → production
  • Strong collaboration with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams

Key Deliverables

  • Verified and production-ready schematics
  • Optimized, risk-mitigated BOM
  • Successfully brought-up and validated hardware boards
  • Detailed debugging, validation, and test reports
  • Support for compliance and production readiness
