We are looking forward to hiring a design engineer for our Embedded Hardware Development team based in Bangalore, India. This role offers the opportunity for you to exercise & enhance your technical skills in Hardware development for Automotive applications and deliver innovation & outstanding results in a bold, vibrant, friendly, open, lively and ambitious work Environment.

You Will

  • Develop Embedded HW platforms such as Vehicle control unit (VCU), HMI Systems, cloud connectivity solutions and MCU based peripherals that integrate into our eV and charging infrastructure product portfolio
  • Carryout benchmarking activities for Embedded HW platforms to evaluate differentiating factors such as performance, cost, safety, efficiency, reliability, life, maintainability & serviceability
  • Implement and validate compliance of interconnects and interfaces to functional requirements
  • Leverage virtual design models & techniques (MatLAB/SIMULINK/FEA) and prepare correlation reports between virtual prototyping and physical prototypes
  • Carry out detailed design analyses such as WCA, tolerance & sensitivity analysis on embedded HW design(s)
  • Collaborate with firmware/SW development teams to define the state machine, flow-chart, fault management, communication & diagnostic requirements
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure embedded HW design(s) comply with DFx & xFMEA, costing & sourcing guidelines
  • Participate in technical reviews for embedded HW design & provide resolution for technical issues through structured RCA procedures
  • Carryout board-bring-up & Engineering verification tests, debug and fix issues, optimize performance through thorough characterization of embedded HW platform(s)
  • Prepare, review & present all technical documentation for embedded HW design(s) including but not limited to concept & feasibility reports, cost estimation, Material selection & safety, xFMEA, WCA, Circuit simulation, Prototype Build reports, Assembly Instructions, DFx, Engineering test plans/reports, Integration plan/report & compliance reports
  • Participate in program planning & design standardization dsicussions to minimize project execution and delivery risks

To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To

  • Deliver embedded HW design to manufacturing against target TTM, cost & quality requirements
  • Perform, review and document detailed technical analyses such as WCA, tolerance and sensitivity analyses on embedded HW design(s)
  • Demonstrate compliance of embedded HW sub-system design(s) to functional & manufacturability requirements & to departmental & organizational processes, procedures and practice
  • Demonstrate the correlation of the test results with design calculations & simulation results, meet target thresholds/metrics for accuracy and coverage of engineering test and verification activities
  • Carry out RCA on EVT/DVT/Integration/validation/field/manufacturing/service-related issues and implement CAPA
  • Support validation, integration & reliability testing of embedded hardware sub-systems
  • Design, review and release schematics and PCB layout for embedded HW platform design(s)
  • Carry out/assist regulatory and safety certification/pre-compliance testing activities on embedded HW platform(s)

You Must Have

  • B.Tech. / M.Tech. / Ph.D. in Electronics & Communications Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as hardware design engineer in an IoT/embedded hardware product development domain such as design/development of VCU/Instrument clusters/HMI systems/Cloud connectivity modules/IoT devices
  • Fair understanding of MCU/uP architectures including 8-,16- and 32-bit processors/controllers, SoC and SoM, Memory, RF, high-speed digital design & analog circuits
  • Strong knowledge in interface designs with various serial communication protocols such as UART, CAN, I2C, SPI & USB
  • Hands-on experience in designing signal conditioning circuits with peripherals ADC, PWM/Timer, & GPIO on a variety of HW platforms & devices
  • Working knowledge of RF/PMIC & SPICE/SIMULINK/PSIM circuit simulation for high speed digital design
  • Exposure to the design of the load switches, solenoid drivers & LED drivers
  • Knowledge of the Physical layer design for RF communications such as 3G/4G/LTE/5G, WiFi, GNSS & BLE
  • Understanding of antenna operation and performance specifications & expertise in designing impedance matching circuits/PCB design constraints
  • Fair understanding of high-speed interface design characterization techniques such as eye-diagrams & VNA (for RF)
  • Proven experience in carrying out high-speed signal integrity measurements on PCB design for high-speed & RF applications
  • Familiarity of firmware architecture, flow charts & state diagrams, thermal management & EMI/EMC standards
  • Working knowledge of LVDS/MIPI display interface standards
  • Exposure to embedded hardware development in a structured environment encompassing utilization of revision control, issue tracking, profilers & debugging tools
  • Hands-on experience in usage of test and verification tools/equipment including but not limited to MSO, DMM, Spectrum/Vector Network/Protocol/Logic analyzers, & Debuggers
  • Very good Problem-solving, documentation & communication skills
