You will become a part of a dynamic team that serves the top HVDC worldwide customer as a hardware design engineer –switchyard Control and protection. Within our project groups, it is a varied, autonomous position with lots of responsibility, and you will have excellent opportunity to further your abilities with HVDC. The hardware design of the HVDC system falls under the purview of our division. This covers design, documentation, revision updates, and as-builts.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Knowledge of AIS and GIS Substations design for all the voltages up to 400Kv is essential
- Knowledge of primary equipment, such as Circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers etc…
- Understand and adhere to standard practices of domestic and international Leading utilities like PGCIL, National grid, Tennet, Amprion etc….
- Preparation of protection SLD showing principles, relays and meters and functional design standard/descriptions.
- Preparation of signal list, trip matrix, logics & Interlocks, review of vendor drawings documents (Technical vetting of control and relay panels, Auxiliary system).
- Preparation of schematic drawing – New & existing set-up (Applicable for Retrofit projects).
- Preparation of Cable block diagram & Relay ordering information.
- Preparation of cable schedule & BOQ estimation for ordering.
- Preparation of wiring / termination diagrams and core sheets.
- Preparation of Voltage drop calculations – trip & close coil LVAC Power cable.
- Identification of existing drawings and modifying them using red and green markups as per the standard requirements.
- Interface knowledge with the primary equipment, Bay controller units / Scada / RTU/Tele protection are essential.
- Auxiliary power system design like low voltage AC Panel & DC Panel requirements, aux trfo and battery sizing, AC DC Cable sizing, CB Selectivity study.
- Co-ordination with other departments like primary, lead engineer, sourcing, C & R Factory counterpart & own department control and protection etc.. for design progress and completion.
- Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for designs and drawings.
- Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation.
- Take part in customer meetings / project clarification support for act as interface engineer during erection and commissioning.
- Estimation of engineering effort for each project for costing at tender stage.
- Communicating with customers & solving technical queries related to product / project.
- schedule and signal list for Substation equipment's LIKE Transformer, Transmission line & Busbar etc….
- workshop support and factory acceptance test during manufacturing of cubicles.
- Leading and managing the design team and Mentoring to achieve the desirable outcome.
- Setting IDP and KRA the team and evaluate the same.
- Responsible for the CSAT and KPI and Team competency progression
- Customer and Quality focus.
- Business development activity support
Desired background.
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Ideally 7 to 12 years of direct experience in HVDC Station or HVAC substation secondary design, ranging from 25kV to 500kV.
- Knowledge of relevant internation standards ex. IEEE, IEC, National grid etc…..
- Experience and Knowledge on HVDC Station will be added advantage.
- Experience on the Engineering base will be added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross – functional teams.
