- Act as the subject matter expert for the systems architecture of key mechanical and mechatronic vehicle systems.
- Develop, maintain, and own the comprehensive SysML models in MagicDraw/Cameo that define the architecture, interfaces, and behavior of systems like steering, closures, and wipers.
- Translate vehicle-level features and stakeholder requirements into precise, verifiable engineering requirements for mechanical and hardware-software systems.
- Create detailed functional, logical, and physical architecture models, ensuring a clear line of sight from requirements to implementation.
- Establish and enforce rigorous traceability within the model, linking requirements to architectural elements, design components, and validation test cases.
- Perform in-depth trade-off analyses to optimize system designs for performance, cost, weight, and manufacturability.
- Work intimately with mechanical design, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure the physical design aligns perfectly with the architectural model.
- Define and document all system and subsystem interfaces, including mechanical linkages, electrical connectors, and data protocols.
Serve as a key technical resource during system integration, providing architectural clarity to diagnose and resolve complex cross-domain issues.
