HAPS Prototyping Engineer (FPGA Architecture & Design)

The HAPS Prototyping Engineer (FPGA Architecture & Design) will be responsible for designing, developing, and verifying FPGA-based solutions for high-performance data center switching applications. The role involves working on advanced FPGA architectures, HDL coding, and ensuring efficient and optimized design implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement FPGA architectures using HDL languages such as Verilog and VHDL.
• Apply advanced FPGA design techniques, including pipelining, data path optimization, and memory management.
• Develop FPGA-based solutions that align with data center network protocols such as Ethernet, MPLS, and QoS.
• Perform synthesis, place and route using tools like Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus.
• Conduct functional simulation, verification, and validation using tools such as ModelSim and Questa.
• Collaborate with system architects to optimize FPGA designs for high-speed digital and computer architecture requirements.
• Analyze and debug FPGA designs to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to improve design quality.

Must-Have Experience

• Strong understanding of FPGA architecture and design methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with HDL coding in Verilog or VHDL.
• Knowledge of advanced FPGA design techniques such as pipelining and memory optimization.
• Familiarity with network protocols relevant to data center switching (Ethernet, MPLS, QoS).
• Experience with FPGA synthesis and place & route tools (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).
• Proficiency in simulation and verification tools like ModelSim or Questa.

Good-to-Have

• Experience with high-speed digital design principles and computer architecture.
• Knowledge of FPGA design for 200MHz or higher frequency applications.
