Hadoop Operations Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Hadoop operations engineer responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and providing first-level support for Hadoop platform environments. The role focuses on alert monitoring, incident triage, job monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support to ensure platform availability and SLA compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor Hadoop platform health and operational alerts.

Perform first-level troubleshooting for Hadoop ecosystem issues.

Monitor and support Hadoop components including HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, and HBase.

Perform job monitoring, failure analysis, and basic troubleshooting.

Handle incidents, create tickets, track SLAs, and escalate issues to L2/L3 teams.

Monitor dashboards, alerts, and system health using monitoring tools.

Perform basic Isilon/OneFS storage monitoring and capacity tracking.

Support production operations through shift monitoring and handover activities.

Execute operational runbooks and maintain support documentation.

Assist in incident reporting and knowledge-sharing activities.

Required Professional Skills:

Hands-on experience in Hadoop operations and production support.

Basic knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem components: HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, and HBase.

Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.

Understanding of Hadoop job monitoring and troubleshooting.

Basic Linux/Unix administration skills.

Experience with ticketing systems and incident management processes.

Ability to work in rotational shifts and 24x7 support environments.

Good communication and documentation skills.
