About The Opportunity

Healthcare Hospital & Clinical Services sector with a focus on maternal & women's health. We are expanding clinical services in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh and seek a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join an on-site hospital team delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to the local community.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality outpatient, inpatient and emergency obstetric & gynaecologic care including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal management.
  • Perform deliveries (normal and operative), caesarean sections and elective & emergency gynaecologic surgeries with adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • Lead labour ward and maternal emergency responses, stabilise critical patients and coordinate transfers when required.
  • Interpret obstetric and gynaecologic imaging (ultrasound) and use findings to guide management and counselling.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, produce operative notes, prescribe evidence-based treatments and follow infection-control practices.
  • Mentor junior clinicians, coordinate with nursing teams and participate in clinical audits and quality-improvement initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Caesarean section (LSCS)
  • Normal vaginal delivery
  • High-risk obstetric management
  • Obstetric ultrasound interpretation
  • Emergency obstetric care
  • Gynecologic surgery

Preferred

  • Laparoscopic gynecologic surgery
  • Colposcopy and cervical screening procedures
  • Family planning services (IUCD insertion, contraceptive counselling)

Essential Qualifications

  • MBBS with MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) or DGO (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
  • Registered with the Medical Council / State Medical Council and valid licence to practise in India.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated hands-on experience in deliveries and gynaecologic surgeries.
  • Familiarity with hospital workflows, basic EMR/charting and adherence to clinical governance procedures.
