Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (On-site) - Handia, UP
Industry & Sector: Healthcare multi-specialty hospital and maternal & women's health services delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to urban and semi-urban communities. This on-site consultant role is focused on clinical service delivery, operative care, and quality-driven maternal health outcomes at a busy facility in Handia, Uttar Pradesh.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end obstetric and gynaecology care across OPD, IPD, labour room and postnatal services, ensuring evidence-based clinical management.
- Perform and supervise deliveries including normal vaginal deliveries and Caesarean sections; manage antenatal care and high-risk pregnancies.
- Plan and perform elective and emergency gynaecological surgeries including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy when indicated.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and lead resuscitation efforts in coordination with anaesthesia and neonatal teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection control, and quality & safety standards.
- Mentor junior medical staff, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to community outreach and patient education initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) or DGO (or equivalent) recognized Indian qualification
- Valid state medical registration (MBBS/MD/MS registration with Medical Council / State Medical Council)
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology with hands-on deliveries and OT experience
- Proven ability to manage high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies
- Proficiency in operative gynaecology including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures
- Willingness to work on-site with flexible on-call availability for labour room and emergency coverage
Preferred
- Certification or training in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) or neonatal resuscitation
- Experience in community or rural healthcare settings and outreach programmes
- Fellowship/training in minimal access gynecologic surgery or maternal-fetal medicine
