The Cloud Solution Architect Applications is responsible for leading the design, delivery, and architecture of cloud-native application solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AWS CDK, and Amazon Bedrock.
This individual demonstrates strong technical leadership, deep cloud architecture expertise, and a service-oriented mindset to deliver scalable, secure, and modern application platforms.
Responsibilities include defining application architecture strategy, standards, governance, and best practices, ensuring alignment with enterprise cloud strategy.
This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to design, develop, modernize, and optimize applications leveraging microservices, serverless, and AI-enabled capabilities.
The architect ensures solutions are highly available, secure, scalable, and cost optimized, while supporting enterprise digital transformation initiatives and long-term architecture goals.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES (List In Order Of Importance)
Application Architecture & Cloud Design :
- Define and maintain enterprise application architecture using AWS services including EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CDK, and Bedrock
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-native solutions
- Establish architecture patterns (microservices, serverless, API-first, event-driven)
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and cloud strategy
Cloud-Native Application Enablement
- Architect and guide implementation of container-based applications using Amazon EKS
- Design serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and event-driven patterns
- Enable API-driven architectures using API Gateway
- Promote reusable frameworks and standard design patterns
DevOps & Automation
- Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption using AWS CDK
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployment
- Promote GitOps practices for Kubernetes (EKS) environments
Performance, Scalability & Reliability
- Design highly available, fault-tolerant application architectures
- Optimize performance and cost (auto-scaling, compute optimization, concurrency control)
- Implement monitoring and observability using AWS-native tools
- Define SLAs, KPIs, and system health metrics
Data Lake Architecture & Enablement
- Design and implement data lake architectures for centralized storage of raw and diverse datasets
- Enable schema-on-read and ELT-based processing models to support flexible analytics and AI use cases
- Support advanced use cases including machine learning, GenAI, and large-scale analytics workloads
- Ensure scalable and cost-effective storage using cloud object storage platforms
- Implement governance frameworks to prevent data quality issues and ensure discoverability
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure secure architecture using IAM, encryption, network isolation, and API security
- Enforce authentication, authorization, and data protection standards
- Align solutions with enterprise security policies and compliance requirements
- Establish governance for application, API, and AI workloads
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Security, Compliance & Governance :
- Ensure integrations comply with security, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Enforce data privacy, encryption, and access control standards
- Support audits by providing documentation, logs, and integration controls
- Maintain integration documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams
Basic Qualificiations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related field
- 12+ years of technical experience with cloud and application architecture
- 10+ years of experience designing AWS-based application solutions
Strong Experience With
- Amazon EKS (Kubernetes)
- AWS Lambda (serverless architecture)
- API Gateway (API lifecycle management)
- AWS CDK (Infrastructure as Code)
- Amazon Bedrock (AI/GenAI application integration)
- Strong understanding of microservices, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and integration patterns
- Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
- Proven experience driving cloud-native application modernization
Additional Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional preferred)
- Experience with event-driven architectures (EventBridge, SQS, SNS)
- Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices
- Experience integrating with enterprise systems (SAP, middleware platforms preferred)
