Job Summary: **

The Safety Executive at HINDUSTAN UNILEVER LIMITED will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy working environment across all company operations.

Job Responsibilities: **

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system in accordance with national and international standards.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver effective safety training programs for employees at all levels, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local and national safety regulations, standards, and internal company policies.
  • Manage and oversee safety audits, inspections, and reporting, identifying areas for improvement and tracking progress.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including production, engineering, and human resources, to integrate safety into all business processes.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on safety performance, trends, and initiatives to senior management.
  • Manage and respond to emergencies, developing and testing emergency response plans.
  • Stay updated on the latest safety legislation, best practices, and technological advancements in the field.
  • Mentor and guide junior safety personnel.

Job Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental), Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH International Diploma or equivalent recognized safety qualification is preferrable
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing EHS functions within a manufacturing or FMCG environment, preferably in a large multinational company.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Indian safety legislation and compliance requirements (e.g., Factories Act, EHS rules).
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing robust safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with safety management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
