Job Description

Growth Marketing Manager at Synup

Synup helps agencies deliver and scale local marketing for their clients through a unified suite of products covering local listings, reputation management, social media, analytics, and reporting. Since 2014, agencies have used Synup to manage growth for over 1,000,000 businesses worldwide. We are a small team, and move fast.

We are looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to join our team. You will work directly with the marketing and leadership team and own a wide range of things across content, outreach, distribution, and campaigns. Expect to wear multiple hats and get your hands dirty across the board.

What the job looks like day to day

Creating content across formats. Videos, tools, blog posts/long-form articles/guides, landing pages, email sequences, social posts. The bar for quality is high. Our audience is agency owners and they can tell when something is shallow or generic. You need to be genuinely good with language and structure, and comfortable going deep on a topic when the situation demands it.

Using AI to work faster and build things. Not just using Claude/ChatGPT to clean up a draft. We mean building repeatable workflows for research, content production, outreach personalization, and data analysis. If you find yourself doing something manually more than twice, your instinct should be to automate it or at least make it significantly faster with AI. We also build free tools that solve real problems for our audience and you will be involved in identifying what to build, scoping it out, and shipping it. If you have never built anything and only write, this will be a stretch.

Running outreach and link building. Finding the right prospects, writing outreach emails that actually get replies, following up, and getting placements. This takes persistence and a thick skin.

Owning the social media calendar. Repurposing content across channels, testing what works, and turning one piece into multiple formats without it feeling repetitive.

Getting distribution for everything you ship. A blog post/tool that nobody finds is wasted effort. For everything you create, you should already have a plan for how it reaches the right people. Outreach, communities, social, partnerships, whatever it takes. We don't create things and hope they get found.

What you should bring

  • 2 to 3 years in a marketing role at a startup or agency. B2B SaaS experience is a plus. If you have spent your career at a large company doing only one thing, this probably is not the right fit. We need someone who has operated across multiple areas and is comfortable figuring things out without a playbook.

  • Strong written and spoken English. This is the foundation of the role and there is no getting around it.

  • Working knowledge of websites, GSC, Google Analytics, Adwords, and similar tools. You don't need to be an expert but you should not be seeing these for the first time.

  • Real experience with AI tools for content, workflows, and building. We will ask you to show us how you use them, not just tell us.

  • A bias towards action. We want someone who finishes a task and immediately looks for the next thing to push forward, not someone who checks a box and waits for the next assignment. If you are the kind of person who gets restless when things move slowly, you will do well here.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and new tools. Things change fast. Channels evolve, tools get better, what worked last quarter might not work next quarter. We need someone who is energized by that, not overwhelmed.
