Job Description

Company Description:

Housing Marketplace:BedR is a digital marketplace focused on helping people find affordable housing options across multiple locations in India. The platform connects customers with Paying Guest (PG) accommodations and hostels, providing detailed information such as room counts, bathrooms, amenities, and photos for each listing. BedR aims to make the housing search simpler and more transparent for students and working professionals.

For owners:ManagR is property ops management software that replaces informal WhatsApp-based workflows with structured, accountable operations. Built for property managers and operators scaling across multiple locations, ManagR brings visibility to staff accountability, compliance, maintenance, and team performance without the chaos.

BedR + ManagR | Mumbai-based (hybrid) | ₹6-8 LPA

On-site. Worli, Mumbai. Immediately.

THE ACTUAL ROLE (Not the Corporate Speak Version):

You're joining a proptech startup scaling across India with two products:

  • BedR: PG/ Flat housing marketplace
  • ManagR: Ops management SaaS for multi-property teams

Right now, most of our target operators run on WhatsApp + Excel. Your job: convince them that digital management isn't another SaaS tax it's ₹50K+ saved per month in occupancy leaks.

At the same time, it is also catering to the genz audience and working professional about finding their space through us.

You'll own growth across four engines:

  1. Performance (paid media: Google, Meta, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Ads)
  2. Product-Led (trials, freemium logic, activation sequences)
  3. Community (operator WhatsApp groups, Reddit, Quora, ambassador programme)
  4. Partnerships (integrations, channel partners, hospitality associations)

You're not a single-channel marketer. You're a growth operator who moves fast, ships tests weekly, and picks your battles ruthlessly.

YOU BRING THISCore Skills (Non-Negotiable):

  • SEO & Content: Can audit a site, find keyword gaps, write content that ranks. Know the difference between blog traffic and MQL traffic.
  • Paid Media: Run Google/Meta campaigns. Know your CAC, LTV, payback period. Can diagnose why a campaign is bleeding money in 10 minutes.
  • Community Management: Comfortable in Reddit, Quora, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp groups. Can build trust without selling (this is critical for operators).
  • Social Media Strategy: Can plan a month-long content calendar. Know what converts on LinkedIn vs. Instagram vs. TikTok. Can write copy that makes operators stop scrolling.
  • Marketing Automation: Brevo, HubSpot, Zapier can build sequences without breaking them. Understand lead scoring, nurture, and lifecycle email.

The Mindset (What We Actually Care About):

  • Startup DNA: You've worked in a startup (Series A-B, moving fast, wearing 5 hats). Understand the constraint of capital and the magic of leverage.
  • Market Obsession: You read startup news (Twitter, HN, ProductHunt, TechCrunch). You know the funding landscape. You're curious about AI trends and how they apply to proptech.
  • Scrappy Operator: You don't wait for perfect data. You hypothesise, test, iterate. You can launch a lead magnet in 2 days if needed.
  • Strategic But Tactical: You own the 30,000ft vision (growth levers, quarterly targets) AND the 1ft execution (writing copy, setting up pixels, managing budgets).
  • Execution Velocity: Thinks in weeks, not months. Says yes, and here's how more than let me think about that.

Nice-to-Have (But Real Value Adds):

  • Prior startup experience (especially B2B SaaS, marketplaces, proptech)
  • Branding/brand strategy background (we're building brand moat, not just CAC efficiency)
  • Agency experience (you've juggled multiple brands, learnt what scales and what doesn't)
  • India market knowledge (understand operator psychology, payment infrastructure, regulatory quirks)
  • Technical chops (understand APIs, integrations, GTM setup, pixel implementation)
  • Community building experience (ambassador programmes, user conferences, forums)

THE TOOLKIT YOU'LL USE:

  • Semrush – Keyword research, competitive analysis, position tracking
  • Google Ads + Meta Ads Manager – Campaign setup, A/B testing, audience building
  • Clarity – Session recording and heatmaps (ManagR already has it running)
  • PostHog – Product analytics, activation funnels, cohort analysis
  • Brevo + Zapier – Email automation, workflow building, lead qualification
  • Google Analytics 4 – Traffic analysis, UTM discipline
  • Figma – Landing page mockups, collaboration with design
  • Loom – Quick demos, CSM collaboration
  • Perplexity/ChatGPT – Faster research, brainstorm partner, content ideation

(You won't master all of these in week one. You'll learn by doing.)

THE CULTURE FIT (Be Honest):

We move fast. We ship incomplete work and iterate. We make decisions on incomplete data (not recklessly but we don't wait for perfection). We say no to things that don't move our North Star metric: Beds Under Management.

We believe:

  • The operator community is the best distribution channel (not always paid ads)
  • WhatsApp is a legitimate marketing channel (not a fallback)
  • Data beats opinions (but speed beats perfect data)
  • An operator on Reddit or WhatsApp Group is more valuable than a demo request from LinkedIn
  • Your second month should be way faster than your first

If you're someone who:

  • ✅ Loves building from scratch (not optimising mature campaigns)
  • ✅ Gets energised by execution velocity, not analysis paralysis
  • ✅ Thinks like a founder (obsessed with unit economics, not vanity metrics)
  • ✅ Reads startup news and asks how does this apply to us
  • ✅ Can write copy that lands with non-technical users (operators, not CTOs)

...this is for you.

If you need:

  • ❌ Perfect briefs before execution
  • ❌ Role-specific domain (only paid, only content, only social)
  • ❌ Stability and predictability
  • ❌ Large teams and processes

...probably not the right fit.

APPLY IF:

  • You have 2-4 years of marketing/growth experience (mix of startup + agency is ideal)
  • You can point to 2-3 projects where you drove MQL → customer pipeline
  • You've optimised conversion funnels (you know what a 2% → 4% lift means, and how to get it)
  • You can write both strategic memos and ad copy
  • You're a startup person. You follow the game. You know who's raising, who's winning.
