Job Description

Group Supply Chain & Distribution Centre Development Manager

Papua New Guinea | Senior Leadership Role | Major DC Project

Expatriate position with full expat benefits

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced supply chain leader to take ownership of a major infrastructure and transformation project in Papua New Guinea.

The business is entering an exciting growth phase and is developing a new centralised Distribution Centre that will significantly improve supply chain efficiency and support long-term expansion. This is a high-impact, project-heavy leadership role, with the primary focus on delivering the new facility by September 2027.

The project will include a dry goods warehouse, cold stores, smallgoods production facility, container laydown area, standalone bakery, and supporting infrastructure, including a workshop and fuel station. The successful candidate will lead the project from planning and design through to construction, fit-out, commissioning and handover.

Alongside the project delivery focus, you will provide strategic oversight of current logistics operations, ensure continuity of supply across multiple business units, and define the future roadmap for supply chain and logistics across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle delivery of a new centralised Distribution Centre
  • Manage project timelines, risks, budgets and key stakeholders
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors and internal leadership teams
  • Oversee integration between existing operations and the new facility
  • Provide strategic oversight of current third-party logistics operations
  • Drive improvements across warehousing, distribution, cold chain, inventory and procurement
  • Lead, coach and develop the supply chain team

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 10 years progressive supply chain management experience
  • At least 5 years experience leading large-scale warehouse or distribution centre construction projects
  • Background in retail, FMCG, food manufacturing, agribusiness or fresh/perishable goods environments
  • Strong project management capability, ideally with industrial or warehouse construction exposure
  • Experience with ERP systems, WMS and cold-chain logistics
  • Proven ability to manage significant capex projects, ideally $10m+
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, multi-site developing market environment

Formal qualifications in Project Management, Supply Chain, Lean Six Sigma, APICS, CIPS or similar will be highly regarded.

The Offer

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated based on experience and will include a base salary, performance bonus, full medical coverage, company vehicle and standard PNG expatriate benefits.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supply chain and project leader to deliver a landmark infrastructure project and play a key role in shaping the future logistics capability of a growing PNG business.
