Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

As a Senior UX Designer you be leading a couple of critical company initiatives/ products or POD's to improve human factors and usability engineering competencies and steer the focus towards User Centric Design. The role will also be leading design craft by example by being responsible of the end-to-end design of the product(s), including product vision, incorporating user research and visual design.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE

  • Drive and deliver a UX vision at a/multiple product level, along with a plan for evolutionary, iterative updates, that actualize the larger product vision over time.
  • Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with cross-functional stakeholders of the specific product(s) to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.
  • Work in tandem with product and engineering to prioritize the critical work areas and take ownership of crafting cohesive experiences, nail interaction patterns and visual details, and execute timely delivery.
  • Whenever the need arises work with the UX research to drive sound UX research and deepen our understanding of user needs.
  • Maintain and evolve our visual standards to ensure our products are distinctive, intuitive, and effective. Leverage on the foundational framework of the Design System and propose new components after mindful analysis of the new business use-cases.
  • Establish best practices for result oriented experience design execution and smooth change management during product evolution.
  • Provide direction, and mentorship to junior UX Designers; lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms, and devices.

OTHER:

  • Responsible for the driving a positive team culture among the team, promoting collaboration and sharing constructive feedback to the other team-members to elevate the overall outlook of the team towards UX Design.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.Perform other related duties as assigned.

KEY DELIVERABLES:

  • Be an inspiring and a hands-on Sr Product Designer, mentoring junior team-members, while leading design craft by example.
  • Coach and mentor UX designers in your team. Attract design talent to the team, contribute in the hiring process, and help the new team members to ramp up with domain related KT's.
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to drive the design strategy, improve processes, and align team objectives with critical initiatives for the product(s) you will be leading. Deeply engage with business, product management and engineering teams for consistent impact.
  • Evaluate design performance by filtering through customer surveys and responses from UX research to determine how well the design performed. It is crucial to gaze the pulse of what doesn't work, and how to improve or enhance quickly.
  • Guide the vision and execution of your product(s) over the long and short term to drive impact through design.
  • Driving innovation and lean UX methods to deliver seamless and pleasing user experience across products.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 9+ years of experience in UX Design mandatory.
  • 5+ years of UX mentorship experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple functions and drive alignment.
  • Resolve conflicts in a mature and amicable manner and resolve ambiguities by well-rounded design decisions.,
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced environment, working on ambiguous and challenging projects.
  • Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly or remotely with PMs, fellow designers and developers for implementation of customer experiences.
  • Experience with best practices for information architecture and design, as well as experience with usability principles and techniques
  • Bachelor's/master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong working knowledge and advanced understanding in Figma is a MUST.
  • Proficiency in a variety of other design tools (eg. Sketch, InVision, Framer JS, Flinto, Illustrator, Adobe Suite)
