Job Description

The role

We're looking for a hands-on graphic designer and video editor who understands paid social advertising, not just design in isolation.

This role is focused on creating high-performing ads for social media, primarily Meta (Facebook & Instagram).

You'll work from very short, high-level briefs and are expected to think independently, move fast, and make smart creative decisions without being micromanaged.

If you need extremely detailed instructions to do good work, this role is not for you.

What you'll be doing

Graphic design

  • Design static ads for Meta and social media
  • Create simple ad variations (headlines, layouts, hooks)
  • Build clean presentations and decks (Google Slides / PowerPoint / Keynote)
  • Create mock-ups for ads, or concepts
  • Adapt creatives to different brands, industries, and tones quickly
  • Tools like Canva and similar
  • Photoshop and other professional softwares are a plus

Video editing

  • Turn raw footage, UGC, or B-roll into short-form ads
  • Edit videos for Meta formats (9:16, 4:5, 1:1)
  • Add basic text overlays, captions, hooks, and pacing
  • Tools like CapCut, Capwing, or similar
  • Premiere pro or final cut are a plus, but not required
  • Motion graphics are a plus, but not required

Creative & marketing thinking

  • Understand a brand from:
  • Website
  • Brand guidelines
  • A short written brief
  • Translate a simple angle into an ad (e.g. Restaurant bottomless brunch, target group of girlfriends)
  • Use AI tools (ChatGPT, etc.) to help with copy or ideation when needed
  • Design with conversion in mind, not just aesthetics

What we're looking for

Must-haves

  • Proven experience creating ads for social media
  • Strong understanding of Meta/IG ad formats and best practices
  • Ability to work from broad, minimal briefs
  • Independent thinker with good creative judgment
  • Fast turnaround without sacrificing quality
  • Comfortable using AI tools as part of your workflow
  • Organised, reliable, and able to handle multiple brands
  • Experience working with performance marketers or media buyers
  • Basic understanding of hooks, offers, and ad angles

Nice-to-haves

  • Motion graphics experience
  • Experience across different industries (venues, hospitality, e-commerce, services)
