The Graphic/Visual Aid Designer will work closely with the Instructional Design Team to create visually compelling and pedagogically effective graphics, illustrations, and visual aids for a variety of educational materials. This role requires an individual with a keen eye for design, a deep understanding of visual storytelling, and the ability to translate complex concepts into easily digestible and visually engaging formats.

- Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
- Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately
- Work independently as well as cooperatively with marketing team to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
- Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities
- Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
- Collaborate with Instructional Designers to understand the educational objectives and content requirements.
- Design, develop, and produce visual assets (e.g., infographics, illustrations, charts) that enhance learning experiences.
- Ensure visual consistency across all learning materials.
Visual Storytelling:
- Translate abstract and complex concepts into clear, concise, and engaging visual aids.
- Utilize a mix of graphics, icons, and typography to create compelling visual narratives.
Feedback & Revisions:
- Incorporate feedback from the Instructional Design Team to refine and improve visual assets.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback and usability testing.
Maintain Visual Library:
- Catalog and update a library of commonly used graphics, icons, and design templates.
- Ensure the visual library aligns with the organization's branding guidelines.
Stay Updated:
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in graphic design and e-learning tools.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
Required skills and qualifications
- Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
- Five or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to continue building skill set with education and training
Preferred skills and qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in an educational or e-learning setting.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of visual aid designs.
- Knowledge of e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline
- Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems
- Proficiency with photo-editing software
