Position Summary:
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and motivated Graphic Designer to join the marketing and communications team at Chandigarh University. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, strong proficiency in design software, and the ability to translate ideas into visually compelling graphics for various digital and print media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Creation: Develop visually engaging graphics for a variety of media including digital platforms (social media, websites, email campaigns) and print materials (brochures, posters, flyers, banners).
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all design work aligns with the university's brand identity and visual guidelines.
- Collaborative Projects: Work closely with the marketing, communications, and event teams to design promotional materials and creative assets for internal and external campaigns.
- Social Media Content: Create and optimize graphics for social media channels to increase engagement and brand visibility.
- Event Materials: Design event invitations, banners, posters, and other marketing materials for university events, conferences, and seminars.
- Web and Digital Design: Assist in the creation of web graphics and multimedia content to support the university's online presence.
- Adapt and Update Designs: Make revisions and adjustments to designs based on feedback and evolving campaign needs.
- Photography and Video Editing: Assist in post-production of images and videos for marketing purposes (optional but preferred).
- Trends and Innovations: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to maintain a fresh and relevant design approach.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communication Design, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 4-9 years of proven experience in graphic design, preferably in an academic or educational setting.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design work (digital and print).
- Skills:
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Knowledge of video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creative flair, with attention to detail and a keen eye for design trends.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of motion graphics and animation (After Effects or similar tools).
- Should have experience in CorelDraw.
