GRAPHIC DESIGNER JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Ahmedabad

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Ashray Foundation seeks a creative and mission-driven Graphic Designer to visually communicate our impact across multiple channels. You will create compelling design assets that amplify our work in artisan empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and community health initiatives. Your designs will support our outreach, fundraising, internal operations, and digital presence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design communication materials such as brochures, flyers, banners, posters and standees for programs, events and field use.
• Create donor-facing materials including proposals, pitch decks, reports and presentations for CSR partners.
• Lay out long-form publications like the organisational profile, annual reports, impact reports and case study compilations.
• Develop infographics and data visualisations that present program data and impact clearly.
• Produce creatives for social media, the website, newsletters and campaigns.
• Maintain Ashray's brand guidelines and ensure consistent use of logo, colours, typography and templates across all teams.
• Build ready-to-use templates for presentations, reports, letterheads and certificates.
• Design visibility and co-branding materials for project sites as per funder requirements.
• Create IEC materials for community awareness that are simple, culturally sensitive and suited to regional languages and low-literacy audiences.
• Select, edit and organise field photographs and maintain a design asset library.
• Support basic video and motion content such as reels and event highlights.
• Coordinate with printers and vendors on specifications, proofs and timelines.
• Collaborate with program, M&E and leadership teams to understand requirements and incorporate feedback within deadlines.
• Ensure dignified and ethical visual representation of the communities Ashray works with.

REQUIRED Skills & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts , Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent portfolio experience)
• 2-3 years of professional graphic design experience
• Proficiency in design software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design versatility across digital and print media
• Experience designing for social media platforms and digital content
• Excellent understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, color theory, and composition
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate organizational needs into visual solutions
• Experience with nonprofit sector, social impact, or development work (preferred)
• Familiarity with web design basics and responsive design principles (preferred)
